The most expensive summer destinations in Utah
Updated: August 5, 2021Moab, a city in eastern Utah that draws large numbers of outdoor adventurers every year thanks to its stunning natural landscapes, is the state’s most expensive destination for hotel stays this summer, a new survey has revealed.
The survey by Cheaphotels.org compared accommodation prices in 20 popular vacation spots across the Beehive State during August. Only lodgings rated at least 3 starts and with a central location were taken into account for the survey.
With an average price of $172 for the cheapest available double room, Moab was found to lead the rankings . Only marginally less expensive is the town of Springdale in Washington County. Completing the podium positions is the city of Midway in Wasatch County, located 28 miles southeast of the state capital of Salt Lake City.
In the capital itself, travellers will have to spend an average of $110 for the most affordable double room. Meanwhile the cheapest destination in Utah, according to the survey, is the city of Saint George in Washington County, where travellers should find a room for less than $80 per night.
The following table compares 20 popular summer destinations in Utah. The prices shown reflect the average rate for each destination’s cheapest available double room (in a minimum 3-star hotel or inn) for the period spanning August 1-31, 2021.

About the Methodology
The survey considered 20 popular summer destinations in Utah, based on the number travelers. For each destination, the average price for the cheapest available double room was established for the time period spanning August 1-31, 2021. Only centrally located hotels or inns rated at least 3 stars were considered. Rates were established in end-July based on research conducted on the hotel comparison website Kayak.Press Contact
