The most expensive US destinations for Presidents Day

According to a survey conducted by Cheaphotels.org, Key West is the most expensive destination in the U.S. for Presidents' Day weekend based on lodging costs.

The survey compared hotel rates in cities across the U.S. for February 12-15 — this year's Presidents' Day weekend. Only hotels rated above 3 stars and located close to a beach or city center were considered.

In Key West, travelers can expect to spend $472 per night for a no-frills double room. Breckenridge and Beaver Creek, two ski resorts in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, round at the list of most expensive destinations at nightly rates of $423 and $412, respectively.

While rates remain stable in Florida and the ski resorts compared to last year, travelers will find significantly more affordable rooms in Hawaii. Last year, Lahaina took the top spot for Presidents Day at an average rate of $572 per night. This year, you can book a room for less than $200.

The following table shows the 20 most expensive destinations in the United States for this year's Presidents' Day weekend. The prices shown reflect the daily rate for each destination's cheapest available double room for Feb. 12–15, 2021.
