The historic Parisian district of Montmartre is one of the city’s most popular tourist spots – and yet despite its appeal you don’t need to spend a fortune for accommodation here.
Set on a large hill in the city’s 18th arrondissement, the neighbourhood is awash with places to stay, many of which offer panoramic views from its elevated position. For somewhere affordable in Montmarte, we’ve picked out two options below – one a stylish property on the edges of Montmartre with classic Parisian design and another that also borders the district and targets a younger crowd with its aesthetic.
Hotel Boronali

Housed in a quintessential Parisian, Haussmann-style building, the 3-star Hotel Boronali combines a classic exterior and architecture with contemporary interiors that retain a subtle nod to classic styling. In the communal areas, old and wooden furniture sits alongside modern textile and baroque elements of decoration, while some guest rooms feature typical Paris-style details such as a “Juliette” balcony overlooking rooftops. Services include express check-in and check-out, luggage storage and a hearty buffet breakfast served daily.
The hotel is situated right on the fringe of Montmartre and the Clignancourt quarter, in a residential-tourist border zone that mixes the tourist buzz of Montmartre with the bustle of local Parisian life. On you doorstep are local cafés, patisseries, small shops and unpretentious eateries, as well as local markets and small squares such as the nearby Square de Clignancourt. The iconic Basilique du Sacré‑Cœur is a short walk away.
