The most expensive destinations in Oregon
June 23, 2016With its long stretches of sandy beach along the Oregon Coast, Cannon Beach has earned the distinction of being the Beaver State’s most expensive summer locale. The latest survey from CheapHotels.org came to this determination after comparing 20 of Oregon’s most popular destinations on the basis of their lodging cost.
In coming up with the rankings, the survey established for each destination the average rate an overnight guest can expect to pay for the cheapest available double room (rated at least 3 stars). The survey used the months of July and August to compare the 20 locales.
When the comparison was complete, Cannon Beach came out as the costliest destination. To stay overnight there this summer, a visitor can anticipate a nightly bill of $234, on average. Rounding out the Top 3 are Bend with its beautiful mountain vistas and the state’s most populated city, Portland. Coming in second and third respectively on the survey, the two Oregon destinations are averaging $221 and $216 per night for their least expensive double room.
Seaside, Newport, Astoria, Lincoln City and Coos Bay make for another five destinations on the Oregon Coast that made it into the Top 10. The least expensive destinations in Oregon are Medford, Pendleton and Grants Pass, where overnight guests should be able to find a room for less than $100 nightly.
