December 27, 2017Whistler has revealed itself to be Canada’s most expensive New Year’s Eve destination. That’s the finding of a recent survey conducted by CheapHotels.org. The rates of the cheapest available double rooms for 20 popular Canadian destinations on December 31, 2017 served as the basis of comparison.
Whistler, a winter sporting hot spot in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, clearly leads the rankings. That dollar figure represents a 300+% increase over the regular rate. Rounding out the Top 3 is Niagara Falls. There, the least expensive double room is going for C$329 on the last night of 2017.
With rates of C$179 and C$164 respectively, Vancouver and Montreal also rank among the pricier Canadian destinations. In both cities, an overnight stay will cost roughly double compared to a normal day in January. Pretty affordable, on the other hand, are Calgary and Winnipeg.
